Lake Ewauna Wrap Up for TimberMill Shores
Oct. 7, 2005
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- From Blues to Country and Patriotic Pops to Bluegrass, this summer's Lake Ewauna Music Festival offered something for everyone. In its fourth year, this summer's festival was comprised of five free, outdoor concerts over a three-month span in Veterans Memorial Park.
The Lake Ewauna Music Festival is presented by TimberMill Shores and The Ross Ragland Theater and is sponsored by Cascade Auto Group.
The first event was held on Independence Day in conjunction with The Klamath County Chamber of Commerce's Street Festival. Concerts included a Patriotic Pops Concert by the Klamath Falls Community Band and the Klamath Chorale; a blues concert by The Craig Allen Blues Band; and the finale concert performed by country artist, Jason Johnston.
On August 10, The Bond Brothers performed a concert of soulful rock and blues. And finally, on September 14, Siskiyou Summit performed a program of bluegrass and roots music. It is estimated that over 2500 concert-goers benefited from the series.
Several food and beverage vendors participated this year including Above & Beyond Catering, Anotonio's Cucina Italiana, MC's on Main, Happy's Hot Dogs, The Ledge, Tacos Coronas, YMCA and Wubba's BBQ. Other business supporters included American Sanitation, Newswatch 12 and Waste Management.
Proceeds from the Lake Ewauna Music Festival benefit The Ross Ragland Theater's Access Program for Low Income Youth & Families. The program's aim is to ensure equal access to the arts. The Ragland offers need-based scholarships so that children and adults are able to attend performances and arts outreach programs and workshops.
Plans are already underway for the 2006 Lake Ewauna Music Festival. Please visit The Ross Ragland Theater website on November 15th for dates and performers at www.rrtheater.org
